    Due to our continued growth, we are searching for another member of staff to support our clients.

    Your role in Mollan & Co will be to provide accountancy and tax services to our clients. This will entail (with support from Assistant Client Managers, outworkers and / or technology) client bookkeeping, VAT return preparation, and preparation of sole trader, partnership and Ltd company accounts and tax returns. The role will demand significant contact with a wide range of clients, so excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

    General duties include:

    • Main point of contact with clients, assisting clients with their accounting and tax affairs
    • General correspondence concerning client affairs including third parties such as HMRC, Companies House, banks, IP’s.
    • Preparation of client’s VAT returns inc bookkeeping with assistance from outworkers and assistant client managers.
    • Preparation of sole trader, partnership and Ltd company accounts from raw records or Accounting software (Xero/FreeAgent/SAGE etc).
    • Completion of client tax returns (SA100, SA800 and CT600’s)
    • To ensure all verbal or written help and advice provided to a client is recorded in the businesses CRM systems and highlighted to the Senior Client Manager responsible.
    • To support senior client managers in responding to clients queries.
    • Offer clients help and advice on accounting systems and software packages such as Xero. To ensure Xero certification is current and up to date (training will be provided).
    • Provide feedback and ideas to Senior Client Managers on how our systems could be improved to enhance our client relationships, efficiency and profit margins.


    The ideal candidate would have several years experience (min 4 years) in a small / medium-sized accountancy practice and hence familiar with the demands and challenges of dealing with many clients. Time and work management along with a “can do” attitude will be essential characteristics.

    Salary dependent on experience and qualifications,  Plus pension, Bonus (subject to performance)
    23 days holiday plus Stats. (plus 1 day for each of 5 years’ service) / Flexible working /36.5 hours (4pm finish Friday)

    Flexible working with up to 50% home working (subject to a successful probation period)
